DiscoverCars.com used over 150,000 customers’ review annual data to determine the 20 best cities in the world for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation on the road.
- Bratislava (Slovakia), Rovaniemi (Finland) and Victoria (Seychelles) are top destinations for a scenic driving vacation, with an average rating of 9.3/10.
- Australian cities Perth and Adelaide take home the 9th and 10th place positions, with a score of 8.9/10 and 8.8/10 respectively.
- Last year’s winner, Ivalo (Finland) failed to place in the top 20 destinations for 2023.
In a new annual report from DiscoverCars.com, over 150,000 customer reviews were compiled to determine which global destinations are the best for those looking to embark on a road trip in 2023. The comprehensive list includes futuristic cities and pearly white beaches – so there’s something for everyone!

Driving holidays have always been a popular way to travel, with road trips largely being viewed as an adventure to be embarked either alone or with our loved ones – bringing us to destinations we may not have visited otherwise. Thankfully, none of these destinations disappoint.
